Lee Braaten, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D is an experienced public accounting practitioner and board director.
With over 35 years of experience in public accounting practice, Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1984 and joined Price Waterhouse (now PwC LLP) that year. Lee obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1986 and his Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2009. Lee has spent his career working with private companies and public entities providing assurance and related services to a variety of management, ownership, and governance structures across many industries. He has worked with companies that have experienced mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, succession planning and transition, emerging business opportunities and financial challenges and difficulties. In addition, Lee has been part of the leadership of PwC to 2022 managing the execution of strategic change and business transformation for the Saskatoon practice. Lee obtained the Institute of Corporate Directors designation in 2021.
Lee has volunteered his time with many boards and organizations including Past Chair of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan, Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation, Past Director of the Board of the Directors of The Saskatoon Club, Past Member of the Senate of the University of Saskatchewan, Past Director of the United Way of Saskatoon and Past Director of Saskatoon Community Services Village.
Lee is presently serving as a Director on the Board of Directors of SaskEnergy and a Director on the Board of Directors of Green Centre of Canada.
