Accessible Assistance

Accessible Parking

You can find accessible parking stalls in our public parking lots:

  • ExpressXE (short-term): Accessible stalls are in the first row, next to the cross walks, on both the far north and south ends of the parking lot.
  • StandardXE (long-term): Accessible stalls are in the first row of this parking lot, with three stalls next to the north crosswalk and eight stalls located between the two south crosswalks.

Accessible Drop-Off and Pick-Up Zones

  • Accessible Curbside Zones: These zones are identified with line painting and signage along the public curb. These areas are equipped with curb ramps and are  intended for persons with disabilities (or caregivers) to utilize for a short duration, while transitioning in and out of vehicles.  
  • Accessible Assistance: Assistance from our public curb to our check in hall, and from our arrivals area to our public curb can be requested either in advance (recommended) or on demand:

    • In Person: at the ParkXE desk located in the middle of the terminal building next to the check-in hall.
  • If you or someone you know requires additional assistance throughout the terminal, please contact the individual airline directly in advance.

Accessible Ground Transportation

Several accessible ground transportation providers operate at YXE:

  • Taxi Services: on site, taxis can be found along the terminal curbside. Taxis can also be pre-arranged by contacting the companies directly, or by contacting our Curbside Operations Group. Additionally, taxis that service the airport have vehicles that can carry a non-folding or non-collapsible mobility aids.

Accessible shuttle service to and from the jetSet parking lot is available.

Car Rentals:

Hand-controlled equipped vehicle rentals can be arranged. We recommend contacting the respective car rental agency to coordinate your hand-controlled equipped vehicle rental 72 hours in advance.

City Bus Icon/icône d'autobus urbain.

 City Transit:

All standard Saskatoon Transit buses are low-floor, have ramps, along with designated spaces for mobility aids. The closest bus stop is located on the public curb. Find route information here.

Access Transit:

Through Access Transit, the City of Saskatoon offers a variety of travel options for residents with reduced mobility.

 

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program

YXE Saskatoon Airport participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, offering sunflower lanyards to travelers with non-visible disabilities. These lanyards signal to airport staff the need for assistance and is designed to make a traveller’s journey through the airport easier. Passengers can pick them up at the Information Desk, located pre-security in the terminal’s centre.

YXE Saskatoon Airport is proud to be certified under the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification program, which works towards improving accessibility of the built environment in Canada.
