Bert Munro

Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce

Bert Munro received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan after a Diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology through SIAST which was preceded by studies in Biology at the University of Manitoba.

Recently retired, Bert Munro was a Vice President and the General Manager of Associated Engineering for the Saskatchewan & Manitoba Region, where he was responsible for the business and engineering operations of the company.  He was also the Vice President and General Manager of ATAP Infrastructure Management and the Director of the Asset Management Division for the Associated Engineering Group of Companies.  With over 35 years of experience in municipal and water resources engineering, project and business management Bert has developed a keen interest in the roles of the engineer, contractor, owner, and the public, in infrastructure planning, development, and management.  Bert has been involved in Infrastructure Planning, Bylaw and Policy Development, and as the principal responsible on projects such as the Owner’s Engineer for the Regina Bypass P3, the City of Saskatoon Raw Water Supply and, the Avenue H Water Treatment Plant Expansions.

A Past President of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, the Western Canada Water and Wastewater Association and the Consulting Engineers of Saskatchewan, Bert has also served as a Volunteer with the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering; the University of Saskatchewan; SIAST; the Columbarium at St. John’s Cathedral; and the Canadian Cancer Society.
