YXE SASKATOON AIRPORT ANNOUNCES INCREASED DAILY MINNEAPOLIS SERVICE WITH WESTJET

Saskatoon, SK: The Saskatoon Airport is excited to announce that following the successful launch of WestJet’s 3x weekly Saskatoon–Minneapolis service, which began in June 2023, service will be increased to daily beginning April 28th, 2024, through October 2024 to accommodate a busy summer travel period.

YXE Saskatoon Airport is committed to providing air service that connects Northern Saskatchewan to the world. We continue to work tirelessly with new and existing partners to build air connectivity for our passengers. The Saskatoon-Minneapolis flight has been made possible through the support of our partners, the Government of Saskatchewan and WestJet.

“As we continue to expand Saskatchewan’s transborder service through affordable and accessible air travel options, we are thrilled to enhance our exclusive service between Saskatoon and Minneapolis with daily connectivity this summer,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “This route has been met with strong demand and we look forward to it continuing to stimulate vital business and tourism opportunities on both sides of the border.”

“The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to hear today’s announcement. The increase and availability of flights will support economic growth in our province,” Minister of Trade and Export Development Jeremy Harrison said. “To grow our local economy and provide jobs for our people, it is imperative that we connect Saskatchewan to the world, and this is another step forward in achieving that goal. By making travel to and from our province more accessible, we will expand tourism and investment opportunities, as people take note of what we have to offer.”

“We are delighted to announce increased daily nonstop service between Saskatoon and Minneapolis with our valued partners, WestJet and the Government of Saskatchewan, this summer,” says Stephen Maybury, President and CEO of Saskatoon Airport Authority. “Nonstop service from Saskatoon to a major US hub such as Minneapolis provides our community with highly valued one-stop connectivity across the US and the world. WestJet currently offers Saskatoon the greatest number of flight options as an air service partner that is committed to provide our community with air access that drives regional economic growth.”
