Leadership

Todd Brandt

Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce

Let’s start with the most important stuff first. Todd is married to Judy, a retired Registered Nurse. Together, they are enjoying the high quality of life found in Canada’s most beautiful city, spending time with their six children and seven grandchildren.

Todd has lived in Saskatoon for over 42 years, completing a University Honours degree in Ecology in 1982.

Todd is an experienced tourism professional with 36 years of leadership in destination management and tourism product development and innovation. Todd recently retired from his position as President & CEO of Tourism Saskatoon, where he served for 23 years. During that tenure he sat on executive committees for 52 national and international convention, sport, and cultural events, including Chair of Rendez-Vous Canada, our country’s largest international Travel Trade Event.

Todd participated in the Saskatoon Air Services Group for 17 years, 13 as Chair, and represented them on the Community Consultative Committee. Todd was a founding Director of the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (now Sport Tourism Canada) and sat on the inagural Board for 4 years. Todd was honoured to receive the 2020 Canadian Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2017, Tourism Saskatchewan’s Chairman Lifetime Achievement Award.

Prior to Tourism Saskatoon, Todd worked for the Meewasin Valley Authority as Director of Public Programs. This included an exciting two years seconded to Wanuskewin Heritage Park leading up to its opening in 1992.

Todd is now exploring his entrepreneurial interests and has co-formed a national group of Tourism professionals in a new venture – Destinate Group Limited. Destinate specializes in tourism business and strategic planning, governance, marketing, and public engagement consulting. In his spare time, he plans to drop four strokes off his current handicap!
