Arrivals Hall

Project Description:

As the final phase of our comprehensive airport terminal rehabilitation, the newly completed Arrivals Hall will feature a redesigned car rental area, an expanded entry and exit vestibule, and seamless integration with the rest of the terminal to create a cohesive and welcoming experience. Inspired by the natural beauty of Saskatchewan, the space will reflect elements of the sun, the river, and the prairie grasses that define our region. This multi-phase project will last for approximately 18 months and result in periodic adjustments to traffic flow.

Start Date:  June 2026

Estimated Completion Date: December 2027

What to expect during the current phase:

  • The full project will be completed in phases, beginning with the replacement and rehabilitation of Baggage Carousel 3 and the Arrivals Hall washrooms.
  • Wayfinding and signage will be implemented to safely guide guests through the construction areas as necessary.
  • During the renovations, alternative washrooms will be available in the center core and departures hall.
  • Actual results may differ from those illustrated.
Escalators View - Poly

Escalators

Project Description:

As part of life-cycle replacement, we will be replacing our 2 main escalators that connect our pre-board screening area to all departure gates.

Start Date: Fall 2025

Estimated Completion Date: Summer 2026

What to expect:

  • While one escalator is out of service, guests will be able to access all departure gates and the Arrivals Hall using the remaining operational escalator and a portion of the adjacent staircase.
  • Guests are encouraged to use the elevator located directly beside the escalators.
  • If accessibility support is needed to reach your gate, please contact your airline in advance to make necessary arrangements.

Tim Horton's - 45th Street

Project Description:

Located on the corner of Airport Drive and 45th Street, Tim Horton’s will cater to the friends and family coming to pick up or drop off travelling guests.

Start Date: Spring 2026

Estimated Completion Date: Winter 2027

What to expect:

  • You will see progress as the site is built within the fenced in project site on the corner of 45th Street and Airport Drive. Actual results may differ from those illustrated.

Solar Project

Project Description:

Description: Final trenching and hook up to the building will complete the installation of our 1MW solar facility.

Start Date: June 2026

Estimated Completion Date: August 2026

  • What to expect: From the terminal or Highway 11 you may see some trenching equipment around the solar panels or around the airside property.

Airside Rehabilitation

Project Description:

Description: Life-cycle rehabilitation work on Apron 5 and taxiway Charlie.

Start Date: Early June 2026

Estimated Completion Date: Early July 2026

What to expect:

  • What to expect: You may see construction equipment near the airside buildings along Avenue C or Highway 11.

Airport Road

Project Description:

Description: Rehabilitation of the service road to the terminal, known as Airport Road will be completed.

Start Date: Mid August 2026

Estimated Completion Date: End of August 2026

  • What to expect: Road detours will be in place at various phases of the project. Follow road signs.

Tim Horton's - Airport Terminal

Project Description:

Description: Located post-security in the terminal building, Tim Horton’s will be renovated to include an updated ambiance and self-serve ordering capabilities.

Start Date: September 2026

Estimated Completion Date: November 2026

What to expect:

  • During the renovation, a temporary coffee and snack kiosk will be available for travelling guests post-security.

  • Starbucks will also be open to serve the public during regular operating hours.

Minute Market

Project Description:

Description: A new micro market will provide an opportunity for guests to quickly pick up pre-made snacks.

Start Date: September 2026

What to expect:

  • There will be a small horded off area next to the ReFuel restaurant seating area.

  • The ReFuel restaurant will remain open during regular operating hours. 

CATSA Plus, including CT-Xray

Project Description:

Description: YXE is excited to announce that CATSA Plus, including CT X-ray technology, will be coming to YXE.

This innovation allows airports to integrate this advanced technology and enhance the passenger experience.

Investment in CATSA Plus lines have demonstrated shorter lines, when combined with CT X-rays, that can deliver higher throughput than traditional multi-view X-rays and roller tables.

Travellers being screened through lines with CT X-ray technology are not required to remove permitted liquids, aerosols, gels (less than 100 ml each), medical devices, or large electronics such as laptops from their carry-on baggage during screening.

Start Date: Fall 2026

Estimated Completion Date: Spring 2027

What to expect:

  • There will be minimal disturbances to the wait times during the construction period.
